Symbolism & Meaning
According to Norse mythology Thor, the god of thunder, wielded a mighty hammer called Mjollnir (pronounced my-awl-near). No enemy was able to stand against the might of this lethal weapon. Thor's Hammer may have been worn as a protective charm by the Vikings, and is thought by some to have later evolved into the Christian cross.
