CAPRICORN
The Zodiac is an imaginary belt in the sky which represents the orbit of the Sun around the Earth. This system was devised by Claudius Ptolemy, a Roman astrologer, who deemed that the Earth was stationary and all the planets and stars revolved around it. Known as the Ptolemaic System, this system is still used today by astrologers, even though we know now that Earth and all the other planets in our Solar System orbit the Sun. The zodiac belt is divided into 12 sections, of 30° each, with each section named after a constellation - these are the Signs of the Zodiac - known as Sun Signs (not Star Signs!).

Capricorn is tenth sign of the zodiac, symbolised by the Goat. It is a feminine Earth sign, ruled by the planet Saturn. The Sun in Capricorn makes you resourceful and persevering, with a strong sense of duty, you believe fervently in tradition and order and therefore distrust the untried and untested - you also need to learn compassion. You can be a slave to convention, always concerned to be seen to do the right thing, what often saves you is a captivating sense of humour, which can take over even at the most serious moments, disarming anyone who is about to give up on you. If you can be persuaded to relax and break out in some way, a lighter side of your personality will emerge.
You find it difficult to express yourself verbally, and tend to regard your partner as a possession. You are always eager for the success of your children, but may place more emphasis on material wealth than love. As a child you were loyal, but needed to be able to respect your parents and have a secure environment.
You relish working alone and exercising control - the self-made businessperson is often a Capricorn. If you do work with others, your ambition drives you steadily to the top of your career.
