JUNE GIFT GUIDE

Named after Juno - the Roman Queen of the Gods and the goddess of youth and protection, marriage and childbirth - June is the sixth month of the year in the Gregorian calendar and the fourth month of the ancient Roman calendar.

In June we celebrate Litha and the Summer Solstice - the longest day of the year and the zenith of solar power across the Earth. This is a time of the wild and fertile Green Man - the flourishing Oak God and the manifestation of growth and maturity. It is a time of perfection, the mystical marriage of earth and heaven. And yet it is also a time of sadness, because it marks the point at which the days will start to shorten again and when the sun is at its brightest, it casts the deepest shadows.
